Our azaleas and daffodils are in bloom, the grass is turning green and the Heritage is here.
I’ve been going to the tournament for so many years that it is an absolute tradition for my friends, my family and me.
Years ago it was all about the outfit and getting your first Bloody Mary on the practice tee. Oh, and acting like I knew the ins and outs of golf.
One year I was with a girlfriend and we said (out loud), “Look, Mr. Ping is here,” as we looked at the name on a bag at the practice green!
Well, a lot has changed since then. I married a man who loves golf and he actually persuaded me to walk the course and watch the game! To my amazement I really liked seeing the players in person … so different than on TV. It changed my entire outlook on the tournament.
Of course, I still have to have the outfit, so what could be better than sporting a Lilly at the Heritage? I am so grateful for SM Bradford for helping me put together the perfect attire!
On a more serious note, losing the Verizon as the sponsor has certainly caused some worry in our community. But, I’m confident about the future of the tournament, due to my faith in tournament director Steve Wilmot, who has boundless enthusiasm for the Heritage and our community.
In the meantime, let’s enjoy the tournament … and take time to stop and smell the flowers.

I love reading your blog, where is May? Keep up the great work!
Lori,
I read your May issue and loved it! I especially liked where you talked about your Mom. My Mom is very dear to my heart and has been through a lot this past year. I would love to do something special for her, does anyone have any good ideas for creative mother’s day gifts?
Best wishes,
Kelly
